#28 Baggicase's first video :)

Thank you BIKECANINE!

Whoever has a friend has a treasure , there's no doubt about it. In today's post, I'm going to tell you a short personal story that, in one way or another, has influenced what Baggicase is today.

Back in 2014, after several summers working as a pool lifeguard , I decided to embark on an adventure in search of a beach where I could work as a summer job, a job that perfectly complemented my university studies. I lived in Zamora, studied in Salamanca, and the closest beach was in Gijón, so I headed there. I spent 9 months a year between Salamanca and Zamora and 3 in Gijón .

To work on the beach , in addition to the lifeguard certification, you must take a theoretical and physical exam. All those who pass are then filled.

The day before the tests, I arrived in Gijón with my girlfriend, who is now my wife and the mother of my little girl, Vera. For two twenty-somethings in Asturias for the second time in their lives , the temptation of having dinner out with some cider was irresistible , so irresistible that we got a little carried away and went to bed very late. The next day, feeling like we were in a bad mood, we went to Luanco to take the tests. I knew that despite how bad I felt , I would pass the physics exam, and I hoped the theory exam wouldn't be too complicated .

How wrong I was! The physics exam went well, but the theory was incredibly difficult. Before the exam, people were reviewing with thick notes and asking each other the typical last-minute questions. I didn't have any notes or anything like that; what I had there was a slight hangover, which, combined with the effort of the physics test on the beach and the freezing water, had me pretty dizzy. I went into the exam and the questions were incredibly difficult. Except for four or five of the rest, I had no idea, so I resorted to a last-minute resource and took a look at my classmate's exam. The final result was a great grade, and a really good one at that: a 9.5, I think I remember.

With this excellent grade and the physical test , I joined the Gozón municipality's rescue team in Asturias. Specifically, they sent me to one of the wildest and most beautiful beaches in Asturias, Xagó Beach . A 2-km stretch of beach, not a single building nearby, just mountains and the open sea. It's a beach as beautiful as it is dangerous. Well-known among local surfers, but little known among tourists . It's rare to find people from outside Asturias there.

On the Xagó lifeguard team, I met some very special people, people I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. It seems like fate had that moment in store for all of us, that summer and the ones that followed. Among all those colleagues , one stood out: Pablo . From the very first day, he took special care of me. I wasn't from Asturias, I barely knew the area, and having someone "looking out" for me at that moment was important . The summer passed, and we all said our goodbyes, promising to return the following summer. Lots of adventures: lifeguarding, surfing, etc.

Pablo lived alone, so he suggested I stay at his house and live together the following summer (in the end, it was four in a row). Of course, I accepted, and from there, a friendship was born that lasts to this day. Pablo is a free spirit, a special person, someone who needs to feel freedom and adventure, and there's nothing he loves more than traveling—traveling with his bike and his dog, hence the name he uses "BIKECANINE." He's been raising money for charitable causes on his trips for years; he's donated more than €60,000 to date. A true example.

Pablo documents his trips with videos. He has been uploading a daily video to his YouTube channel for some time now, a channel that has become the largest and best Spanish-speaking cycle touring channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/bikecanine

Well, we find time to meet whenever we can, and this time he made me a promotional video for Baggicase, which I'm presenting below:

Later, once we have the final prototype , Pablo will be in charge of making the video for the crowdfunding campaign. This video will explain the entire Baggicase project in depth.

That's all. I hope you enjoyed this "different" post and the video too. Be sure to check out Pablo's YouTube channel, the adventurer's channel, Bikecanine.

SEE YOU NEXT FRIDAY!
