#57 Can you imagine MAVIC calling you?

Can you imagine creating a cycling-related product and, when you're in the middle of the fight to market it, Mavic calls you and tells you congratulations, that they really like the idea and that they want to commission you?

Well, that's exactly what happened to me. It all happened like this:

On September 12th, just 1 week after the Baggicase crowdfunding ended, I received an email from the person in charge of Mavic accessory products and after introducing himself, he asked me a very brief and very specific question: "Hello, do you collaborate in partnership with brands?"

After an initial moment of logical confusion due to the size of the company that contacted me and how quickly Baggicase is moving, I respond: "Yes, we work with brands, what do you have in mind?"

He immediately replied , "Perfect. Mavic is working on limited-edition kits for 2018, and we're looking for additional accessories to complete the kit. Is it possible to create a Baggicase with the kit design? If so, we could sell them on the Mavic website." Attached to this email is a picture of the kit. It's gorgeous, I love it.

Can you imagine my response? No, sorry, but I'm not interested? I immediately tell him that of course, he'll tell me where we'll start, and then he suggests a Skype meeting for the following week to discuss the details.

At that meeting, I virtually met my Mavic liaison, a young man with very good ideas and an absolute cycling enthusiast . As an anecdote, I could see a number of Mavic shoes behind him; I think they were prototypes.

In the approximately 30-minute meeting, we discussed all the details. Communication was fluid , and it was easy to nail down the details . We agreed that she would send me the design she wanted for her personalized Baggicase, and we would begin working on it. We made the first prototypes , and they loved them. Little by little, we fine-tuned the details until we arrived at the perfect case for them.

As many of you know, the French market is very different from the Spanish market. They prioritize features such as quality, finishes, and durability over price . They value quality, and I like that .

Once the prototype is approved, we begin manufacturing . The challenge is not easy. I don't want to start working for third parties until I have my own work under control; otherwise, we could make a serious mistake and hinder Baggicase's growth. Factory visits are increasing, and we're expanding the team of Baggicase artisans. We have more work every day, and we have to keep up with demand.

After approximately 2 months we have completed the entire Mavic order, just in time to deliver on time , we send it and we know that they are very happy with the result.

Below I'll show you the final result, and if you'd like to get one, they'll be on sale on the Mavic website the day after tomorrow, March 18th . It's a limited edition, so they won't last long!
