BAGGICASE PACKAGING

We begin this article by reviewing packaging basics and conclude by looking at the packaging we created for Baggicase. Your votes will determine the final packaging .

COME ON!

In the strictest definition of the concept, we would say that packaging is the way of wrapping and protecting a product for distribution and storage. The main objective of packaging is product protection.

Nowadays, this definition has been given many nuances . Not only is product protection important, but the packaging itself must also be eye-catching and attractive to the consumer. More than 90% of the time, we see the packaging before the product itself, so it must convey the product's essence.

Packaging is where designers, creatives, and advertisers face a tremendous challenge. Whether the end consumer notices the product or not depends on the packaging design. We can say that packaging is the main window of communication with the consumer.

We can spend thousands of euros on product marketing, we can have the best product in its category, or even a totally innovative product capable of changing the lives of its consumers. Well, if that product isn't perfectly presented in packaging that conveys all those values, that product is bound to fail.

Furthermore, through packaging we not only convey the characteristics of the product but also the values of the brand . For example, wrapping made from reusable products conveys to the consumer a sense of commitment to the environment.

Another aspect to consider when designing a product's packaging is the target audience . If, for example, we want to target children, the packaging should have bright, cheerful colors, with characters or drawings taking center stage. However, if we want to target young people between 16 and 25 years old and we want to sell cologne, we should convey a free lifestyle, with inspiring images, etc.

Therefore, we can say that packaging contains, protects, transports, preserves, transmits, informs, and sells.

Now that we have seen the essential aspects of packaging, let's focus on the two facets of good packaging design: graphic design and structural design .

Graphic design:

  • Identity design: the logo, brand graphic style, typography, etc., cannot be missing.
  • Emotional design: we must pay attention to the colors and shape of the packaging.
  • Content information design: We must hint at what's inside the package, arousing the customer's curiosity.

Structural design , we must take into account:

  • The product it will contain.
  • Its size and shape.
  • Your weight.
  • Its fragility and resistance.

Below I show you some examples of good packaging:

BAGGICASE PACKAGING

Taking all of the above into account, we now present the packaging we have designed for BAGGICASE.

Graphic design: The exterior will be very minimalist , with only an image and the brand logo . Nothing else.

Structural design: The cover will be placed inside a cardboard box . The so-called "pillow box" .

The image we have chosen for the exterior is the following:

Do you know where it is? I'm sure many of you do. It's the La Calobra mountain range located on the island of Mallorca.

With this image we convey a challenge ; inside there is a product for the most daring cyclist , one who does not back down from any challenge, an all-terrain cyclist, like BAGGICASE.

THE BOX WHERE BAGGICASE WILL GO WILL BE MADE OF CARDBOARD BUT WE WANT TO ASK YOU WHICH YOU LIKE IT BEST, WHITE OR CARDBOARD COLOR?

At the end of the post you can vote for the one you like the most, the winner will be the one we use for the packaging of Baggicase.
