#26 Why do we work this way?
This is one of the questions we get most from those of you who have an entrepreneurial project in mind. In today's post, we're going to break down our way of working from the moment we came up with the idea to create Baggicase until today.
THIS IS HOW WE WORK AT BAGGICASE
Let's put ourselves in context. Baggicase was born out of necessity . I, an amateur cyclist like the vast majority of you, one day started looking for a case to hold my phone , my cycling license , my ID , the bill to pay for my coffee, donut, or Coca-Cola, and, if you push me a bit, my house key , and I couldn't find anything. Another problem also arose: I always left home with the bill but came back with coins , and of course, if I put them in the plastic case with the rest of my things, the phone could get scratched . If I put it in my jersey pocket, they would end up getting lost, and they even made a noise while I was riding. In short, a real hassle.
So I go to Decathlon or the bike shop, and there's nothing but cheap plastic covers or contraptions to put on the handlebars or stem. I don't like them, but anyway, I buy the one that seems less bad and lighter : the plastic one. The result: a complete failure ; they all end up breaking at the corners. Plus, everything gets mixed up in there, so the problem of coins or keys still exists.
That's when I imagine the ideal case for me: it would be waterproof , compact , and have an interior pocket to keep my belongings separate from my phone.
I begin creating the first sketches, and once I have something, I consider launching a crowdfunding campaign for two reasons: first, to see if people are interested in purchasing such a product, and second, to obtain financing to manufacture it. That's why crowdfunding is "collective financing."
Okay, I have the plan, but I'm missing the most important thing: the target community for my project , that is, people who ride bikes like you who are reading this post.
And how do I solve this problem? By creating a community to get subscribers who might be interested in Baggicase .
THIS IS THE PLAN:
Weekly blog.
A blog with a weekly post explaining the step-by-step process behind Baggicase will help people learn about the project and feel part of it. It's a long-term project that requires dedication, but if you provide valuable information and content, the blog will be appreciated.
Involve the target audience in the project :
Beta testers: 30 cycling enthusiasts with a following in their circles and social networks will test the prototype and present it.
Packaging: Give project supporters the power to decide the product packaging.
Raffles.
On social media, we're holding sweepstakes with future discounts on the purchase of Baggicase when it goes on sale.
Gifts.
Everyone who subscribes receives a gift as a thank you.
Influencers.
Involving relevant people from the cycling world in testing the cover will help spread the word. Having a professional cyclist test it and talk about it is invaluable.
Social networks.
Every day, we share interesting content for our target audience on Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter . Since we started, our subscribers have been growing every day , and how rapidly! We have over 11,000 subscribers on Facebook alone. This is a very valuable opportunity for Baggicase.
Advertising.
Being a highly visual product, with a carefully designed and eye-catching design, it's important that people see it. That's why we're using Facebook Ads to create targeted ads perfectly targeted to our target audience.
Crowdfunding campaign.
This will be the real test. The moment to find out if our target audience is willing to buy the case. If they are, Baggicase will become a reality, and we can create the company and start selling online.
