THE COMPETITION.

Taking into account the data analyzed in the effective low-cost market study from post #2, I have to analyze the covers sold by the competition and that my target audience is using. I'll break down the 5 priority options of the 403 cyclists analyzed, which account for 75% of the total.
  1. Plastic bag.
  2. Bareback in the jersey.
  3. Specific waterproof case.
  4. They take an old cell phone, leaving the good one at home.
  5. Specific support on the handlebar.

Plastic bag post #3 the competition baggi.es Plastic bag.

33.2% of people use a simple zip-lock plastic bag like the ones sold at Ikea, Mercadona, or the local Chinese store.
  • As positive points I highlight the lightness , the impermeability and the low price .
  • The downsides include the lack of protection for the device, the lack of an interior compartment for storing money and documents, which leads to the risk of scratches, and the fragility of the phone. They break very easily.
  • What I would highlight about this case are its lightness, waterproofness, and low price for a baggicase.

Post #3: The Baggi.es Competition Bareback in the jersey.

19.3% do not use any case for their cell phone, money, or documents.
  • I don't find any positive points, just the lack of worry about preparing the cover for each ride, everything for the jersey and that's it.
  • The downsides include the lack of protection for the phone, the risk of scratches, the possibility of the phone being thrown off by any bump, and the risk of damaging it due to the moisture generated by our bodies. In case of rain, the phone is most likely to be damaged.

Post #3: The Baggi.es Competition Specific waterproof case.

11.4% use a specific waterproof case.
  • As positive points I highlight the tightness , the greatest protection for the device.
  • The downsides include the high price, the size (they tend to be large and bulky), and the difficulty in inserting and removing items. Some have a zip closure at the end, and most require twisting the part of the case where the phone fits into several times before closing it with Velcro. Others have a hard plastic cover to ensure a watertight seal, like the one in the photo. Furthermore, with this case, it's difficult to notice the vibration if you receive a notification due to the bulkiness of the case.
  • What I appreciate about this case is its watertightness and greater protection.

Post #3: The Baggi.es Competition 2nd mobile so as not to spoil the good one.

7.9% use a second phone, an old one, so as not to damage the good one, the smartphone.
  • The only positive point is that the smartphone will never suffer any damage .
  • The downsides include the hassle of changing your card every time you go out and every time you get home, and the limitations of a conventional mobile phone compared to a smartphone (satellite location in case of an incident, WhatsApp communication, the inability to use apps like Strava, etc.).

Post #3: The Baggi.es Competition Specific handlebar support.

6.7% of people use a specific mount to attach to the handlebar or stem.
  • As a positive point, I highlight the interaction that you can maintain constantly with the mobile and the protection .
  • On the downside, I'd highlight the system's bulkiness, the risk of getting wet and scratched, and the danger of receiving notifications while riding, which could lead to confusion. This type of mount is more commonly used by MTB users. It's less common to see this type of mount on road bikes.
  • For baggicase I highlight the protection.
After this analysis, I highlight the following features to try to implement in baggicase:
  • Lightness.
  • Impermeability.
  • Tightness.
  • Protection.
  • Security.
And given all this, there is no time to lose.

Let's get to work!
