This year, cycling fans won't have to use the TV remote control much because the races that are going to be broadcast will be on the same channels as always: Eurosport, TDP and La1 . The big prize goes to Eurosport , which will broadcast 25 races from the 2018 UCI World Tour calendar . Or rather, we take home the prize, because it's a blessing to have a television network that broadcasts so many races and, in many cases, shows the stages in full.

The Big Three

If you want to watch the three major cycling races (Giro, Tour, and Vuelta) on TV, here's the schedule: GIRO D'ITALIA : May 5-27 on Eurosport. TOUR DE FRANCE : July 7-29 on La1, tdp and Eurosport. TOUR OF SPAIN : August 25 to September 16, TDP and Eurosport.

For the rest of the year's events, we've got a complete schedule here so you don't miss a single one. We'll take the roll call! ;) UCI WORLD TOUR 2018 CALENDAR The International Cycling Union calendar has four types of competitions, each with its own restrictions: Category: 1.UWT UCI WorldTour. All top-level men's road cycling races. The 18 WorldTour teams and Continental Professional teams participate by invitation of the race organizer. Here we can find:

• The Tour de France
• The Giro d'Italia
• The Tour of Spain
• The great monuments of cycling (the five classic races with the greatest history and prestige on the international calendar):
  • Milan-San Remo ("the Classicissima" or "the Spring", almost 300km)
  • The Tour of Flanders (the most recent, about 250 km, with cobbled climbs such as the Koppenberg, the Kapelmuur and the Paterberg.)
  • Paris-Roubaix ("The Hell of the North" or "The Classic of Classics", 260km with 30 pavé sections)
  • The Liège-Bastogne-Liège ("The Dean", the oldest, has been run since 1892 and is about 260 km long)
  • The Giro di Lombardia ("The Classic of the Dead Leaves", about 240-250 km, more mountainous)
• Other major one-day races (the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Race, the Amstel Gold Race, or the San Sebastian Classic)

The UCI Continental Circuits

• Europe Tour
• America Tour
• Asia Tour
• Africa Tour
• Oceania Tour

Within each continental circuit there are 4 types of race:

• HC (one day)
• HC (multi-stage)
• 1 (one day)
• 1 (several stages)

Within the continental circuits, the highest category is 1.HC (one day) and 2.HC (several stages), for races such as the Tour of Utah in the United States, in which World Tour teams (maximum 65% for the America Tour), Professional Continental Teams, Continental Teams and national teams can participate. Then follow races 1.1 (one day) and 2.1 (multiple stages), such as the competition to be held in Colombia, which can be attended by World Tour teams (maximum 50% for the America Tour), Professional Continentals, Continentals and national teams. And finally, there are the 1.2 (one day) and 2.2 (multiple stages) competitions, such as the Vuelta a Colombia, which will be removed from the UCI calendar for 2018. Only Continental Professional teams, Continental teams, national teams, regional teams, and amateur teams can participate. Well, that's all for the news. See you in front of the TV!
