#8 THE CALL
JUST BEFORE I STARTED WRITING THIS POST, I RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT CALL, A CALL THAT, INEVITABLY, WILL MARK BAGGICASE'S FATE.

The day I decided to create a phone case for cyclists, I decided, without hesitation, what the name would be: BAGGI . It came to me by chance, and it sounded good to me, so, in a loose translation, it sounded like "small bag." It was very similar to what I wanted to create.
Well then it will be called BAGGI , as I do a lot of graphic design work and also web design and web page creation, the first thing I did was look to see if the .com domain and the name were available on social networks .
There are websites where you can enter the name you want to check into a search field, and it will instantly tell you which domains are available and whether or not they're available on a huge number of social networks. I specifically did the search on Namechk .
Bang! First on the forehead , no .com, no Facebook, no YouTube, nothing!
Thinking about it, it was to be expected ; it's a very cool name to be available. So I have to look for an alternative. I'm one of those people who, if a project doesn't have a name, I can't start working on it; I need to start from there. I thought and asked a lot, and after considering a good number of alternatives, the one we liked the most was BAGGISPORT. It was available on all domains and networks, so I decided to go with it .
I started working on the logo. It's the second thing I do when I'm considering a project. I need to give it an "image" and an "identity" so I can continue working . To create the logo, I made sketches with paper and pencil, wrote the name in different places, and shared it with my close friends.
I soon came to the conclusion that the name didn't quite convince me ; the SPORT tag was too generic and didn't specify the sport I focus on, cycling, or what BAGGI was, a mobile phone case.
That's when it occurred to me to name it " CASE " as the last name. BAGGICASE sounds good , you can imagine what the product is, and voilà! It was available on all domains and social networks. That's when you get that rush to buy the domain and register it on all the networks. I NOW HAVE A NAME FOR THE PRODUCT, now I really do, and I like it a lot.
Next, I work on the logo. I had the " ubuntu " font set. I reduce the tracking (character spacing) to -75 so the letters are closer together, and I thicken the "BAGGI" letters a bit. I like how it looks. I also create a mountain-like shape to accompany the text. I NOW HAVE A LOGO.

It's time to create the website . I ask a good friend for advice. He recommends launching messages that appeal to my target audience. Plus, if we accompany them with full-screen photos, we'll achieve our goal: to promote BAGGICASE and create a cycling community to launch the subsequent crowdfunding campaign. Many hours of work result in a cool, fresh, minimalist, and concrete website. I NOW HAVE A WEBSITE.
You have to CREATE A COMMUNITY , there's no other way. If people don't know about BAGGICASE, they'll never know the product is being made. That's when I decided to create this BLOG to chronicle the day-to-day process of creating the case . I'm also working hard on social media so that my target audience ends up on the website, discovering the blog and BAGGICASE.
RESULTS AS OF JANUARY 20, 2017:
Instagram: 1,530 followers from December 1st to today.
Facebook: 65 likes from December 1st to today.
Website visits: We went from 5 daily visitors to 465 just yesterday. In a month and a half, we've had 4,283 visitors.
The result is good but we must continue working.
